The research team led by Professor Chen-Kuei Chung from the Department of Mechanical Engineering at National Cheng Kung University presents a novel technology utilizing anodic aluminum oxide (AAO) for metal-nanoparticles free SERS (Surface-Enhanced Raman Scattering) and high-saturation structure color applications. In the SERS application, the team developed a novel porous AAO structure that enables high sensitivity, stability, and reproducibility in SERS performance without using any metal nanoparticles. For structure coloration, the team not only fabricated various high-saturation structure colors, but also employed lithography techniques to create intricate and refined patterns. Both technologies have been protected by multiple domestic and international patents.
